Jesse Boykins III & The Park - 'Pantyhose,' 'Itis,' & 'Tabloids.'

I found this on- of course another blog that I look at and you know I love music. Move over Raheem DeVaughn. Who am I kidding. Raheem is always uno numero. I like freestyle music and Jesse does a good job on this one. Love it. (Snippets of three of his songs)

It's my birthday!!!!!

Yes, It's my birthday...I was born on this day. I received so much love from family and friends especially on fb. It was incredible. I didn't do much. I did what  I wanted to. First, I saw another day (thank you), got pedicure, got facial and had some lunch.  I did this on my own time because guess what- it's MY birthday. Tomorrow the family will be coming so I will post some pictures of my celebration. Plus, I will be getting my haircut. I am over due. It's a HAM (hot A mess). So until then...see ya.

Musiq Soulchild - Soulstar

OMG!!!! As you can see, I am on a music rampage. This song right here. I repeat- This song right here is -wwwwhew- short, but I LOVE IT. PERIOD.

Pretty Girl - Eric Roberson

Eric is from home my home state New Jersey. Again another one that does not get air play.

Amy Winehouse - Just Friends

I love this song......

Breakfast for dinner.....

I have to confess. I somewhat have a disorder. It's called "your eyes are bigger than your stomach" disorder. It's somewhat of a disorder because my stomach is not exactly flat. Another thing you will get to know about me (and this itty bitty apartment) is I love love love..breakfast anytime.

I ate lunch early. 11:30 to be exact, so by the time I got off work, I was starving. I thought to myself "what the heck am I going to eat". Noodle & Co- nope. Chipotle Mexican Grille-naaawww. Then it hit me.. Bob Evans. I didn't need a menu because my order was planned out by the time I pulled in the parking lot. French toast, scrambled eggs with cheese & hash browns with cheese. Oh yeah, a sprite with raspberry grenadine (yes, it's a Shirley Temple. Don't judge). When the  waitress came out with the plate, I was damn near drooling. It was soooo good.

Sadly enough, my disorder kicked in and I didn't eat what I had been drooling over while driving to the resturant. I've come to the realization that I might have to start ordering either kids meals, a la carte or tapas (small plates) meals.  Do they even have tapas for breakfast? Doubt it.

Enjoy your night people......

Monday morning blues.....NOT.

I had to drag myself out of bed this morning. I couldn't get it together for some reason. I guess it was because I was off all last week. So, as I stumbled into what I thought would be a crazy day, I was pleasantly surprised.  There were no complaints or situations that needed to be handled. See, I work with people (21+) who have intellectual disabilities. At times it can be trying because attention and patience is definitely needed when working in this field.  Everyday, my group would come upstairs without fail at 1:45 from their volunteer sites to visit me.  It can become overwhelming at times because I could be in the middle of something, on a phone or in a meeting and the group would just wait until I was done to say "hi".

One of the young ladies that's in my program has Autism.  She has limited verbal skills (as she repeats what is said) and will literally run away from you if you try to speak to her. Once she completes her day volunteering in the community, we practice random communication skills by reading different things in books or just events that happened in her day.  After 4 years of being in the program, she is slowly coming out of her shell.  On this day, she rushed up stairs to see me with a smile as big as the sun.  I called her by her name and she quickly turned her back. I then asked her if she missed me. While her back was turned, she said "yes" (still cheesing with that smile).  As usual, I asked if she could practice the phrase " I Miss you". She turned around and said " I MISS ME". I had to laugh because she was doing what I asked her to do. My Monday morning turned out to be a good morning after all.

One lazy Day

I was off from work the past week and now it's time to return to the madness. I just chilled out all day and cleaned the apartment. It didn't take long because it's cozy a.k.a small. Nothing special. I'm just sitting watching LMN (Lifetime) chewing on old school gum called "big bol". Do you remember that? It's the type of gum candy that you (at least I do) eat one after the other because of the tiny piece of gum that comes from the candy. I love it. I am a old school candy type of person. You know, lemon heads, Alexander the grape, Chico-o-stick, fun dip etc... you get the idea. The stuff they have today does not amount to what they use to have back in the day. I'm currently on the hunt for a candy that was called "delpha roll or danish roll". If I find that, I will be in business. Yum-O. On that note, let me get back to doing nothing. Enjoy your day.

Georgia Anne Muldrow - Run Away

The one thing you will learn about me is.... I LOVE MUSIC. Who knew that I would feel the rhythm and  beats in my soul when my father use to take my sister and I to band (he played the bongo drums) practice years ago. I found this on another bloggers site and had to post it. Feel good music it is
Enjoy

Never again...

There are two things I wanted to ramble about. (1) Train rides and (2) living on the second floor. Yesterday, I returned from a visit to North Carolina- via train. Yes, train. I have to confess something... I WILL NOT (repeat) WILL NOT EVER TAKE A TRAIN AGAIN (unless it's a short trip -no more than 1hr). It was horrible. People are so inconsiderate.  There was a man snoring like he was at home in bed and a young girl who talked so loud everyone heard her business and I quote  (her talking) "yeah, me and my sister are cool, but we don't talk about my sex life". She don't need know that". NEWS FLASH- WE DON'T EITHER lol. She even had the nerve to put it on speaker phone at one point. HUH!! We live in a world where people just are not mindful to their surroundings. They think that people are suppose to cater to them. How about (yes, I said that), you being respectful of others. OOhh, I forgot to mention- the train ride was 8hrs long. NEVER AGAIN.
And continuing with theme... Mr. Hardwalk upstairs.  I live on the second floor of a three story complex. This man, who I must mention, is about 6'3 weighing upwards to 290 (line backer type) continues to walk hard as hell- hence my name for him- Mr. Hardwalk. Sometimes I wonder what in the world is he doing. The apartment is but so big. Where is he walking to?? I just sit here and smdh.  Question- Do people know they walk hard?

~From music to laughter and everything in between~

Good night (as I hear him walking back and forth OMG)

From the top people.....

So, I tried this blogging thing before and I must admit I was not consistent. I would write about everything else but what that blog was originally about. I loved expressing myself, but had to much to say for one subject at hand.  "The musings of apt. 202" was formed as a platform in which I can write about anything.

This blog contains my thoughts and ramblings on the trials and tribulations of life, love, music and fashion (just to name a few) while in my cozy (small) apartment-hence the title. So, introducing ( in ringmaster's voice) "The musings of apt. 202".  Take a seat people, take a seat. Enjoy

I'm a self comedian, I crack myself up (lol)
